From graphs above we can conclude that
- from1 March 2020 to 1 January 2022 that 87.52 per million people died from covid19, so multiplying by the population of Australia (25.69 million) tells us that 87.52 x 25.69 = 2248 people died of covid19.
- from 1 January 2022 to 12 May 2022 (THIS YEAR!!) (299.28 – 87.52) people have died from Covid19 in Australia. or that is 211.76 x 25.69 = 5440.
- So 70.8% of all Covid19 deaths in Australia have been in 2022, from the Omicron variant.
Lesson is do not underestimate Omicron. Note that more people are vaccinated in 2022 than in 2021 as well. So what is going on? Well, even though Omicron may have a low CFR (which is anywhere from 0.05% to 1%, depending on the variant), because it is so contagious it can infect many more people more quickly so there are just as many in hospital, and just a many dying, and this trajectory is linear and growing. The deaths in Australia have been growing steadily since 18 March 2022 and all we have done since then is remove covid restrictions that are backed by science, such as mask mandates inside, social distancing, and hygiene. I can see the complacency in West Australia when I am out and about.
I ask some people if they are worried about the virus, and they say “no”, they know lots of people who have had it and its like a mild flu. Sometimes I try to explain what damage it could still be doing, that is was manmade in a laboratory (that doesn’t seem to bother them much as well) , and that it can hide in nerve cells, but most of the time I don’t bother. Most of them have the spike protein floating around in their bodies anyhow from the vaccine already. I regard both as dangerous, with the virus potentially more dangerous. I rarely tell them that both can also get into the brain.
So the timing to remove the mask mandates especially indoors is plain wrong stupid and unscientific. We know most spread occurs indoors via aerosols.
