I wasn’t 100% on this as, I thought only certain wild dogs and monkeys could get monkeypox but the CDC USA says otherwise. We’re f’d if this is true. I won’t be patting anyone’s dog, or getting too much Asian takeaway.
If true it also means we might see a sudden rapid acceleration in MPX when it get well into the general no-gay community, that it is largely hosted in at the moment.
Lots of researchers are saying MPX is airborne as well and wearing a mask will be trickier for MPX because it is a DNA virus and survives for longer than an RNA virus on it. MPX often survives for months on end, in food and water etc.. You won’t be able to just wash masks easily like for covid.
“Infected animals can spread Monkeypox virus to people, and it is possible that people who are infected can spread Monkeypox virus to animals through close contact, including petting, cuddling, hugging, kissing, licking, sharing sleeping areas, and sharing food.”

Evidence of human-to-dog transmission of monkeypox virus ⚠️
12 days after symptom onset, their male Italian greyhound, 4 years and with no previous medical disorders, presented mucocutaneous lesions, including abdomen pustules and a thin anal ulceration😵💫
