Today WA reported 12,390 cases of covid19. It population is 2.67 million people. This is equivalent to 1.51 million cases a day in the USA, 6.125 million cases in India.

It positivity rate was given as 14.52%, but was mysteriously hidden for 3 days before that. Before that it had a positivity rate of around 25%. Things are going to get worse with hardly any restrictions in place. Masks have been thrown away almost be everyone. From my own personal observations 2 or 3 people in 100 are wearing a mask indoors. All of this is because all Australian States have thrown away their mask mandates because there is a federal election on 21 May 2022. Things are going to get much worse before they get better too.

IF PEOPLE KNEW THE VIRUS WAS MADE IN A LAB, THEY MAY THINK TWICE ABOUT NOT WEARING A MASK INDOORS.

Western Australia, who held the world record of over 600 consecution days of #zerocovid until it opened up it borders to relinquish control of the coronavirus, is now the epicentre of #Covid19 cases in the world.

The Western Australian Government is well aware that most superspreading of the virus occurs indoors, as I have had direct contact with the CHO (Chief Health Officer) Dr Andrew Robertson since mid 2020 about this very matter on Twitter. I have also been personally writing to the premier since late last year when they were hinting they may open up the border. Here is a copy of one such letter.

Dear Mr McGowan,

I am a DPhil (Oxon) theoretical physics, was senior lecturer in mathematics and I am a neuroscience author, but since February 2020 I have been studying the novel coronavirus Sars-Cov2 and covid19. I have studied almost all aspects of the field including variants, vaccines, epidemiology, some medicine, etc.. You might remember someone harassing you to close the border in Feb/March 2020, but that is not important. I am asking you not to open the border now. I want you to personally know:

1. that herd immunity is not possible, even at 100% vaccination. There is no reason to mandate the vaccine any more given herd immunity is not possible. We have enough to slow the virus down, but that is all irrelevant anyhow.
2. the vaccinated carry the virus (how much depends on the efficacy of the vaccines used) and have formed huge viral pools in countries like the UK and the USA. The UK pool is like 1.5 million actively infected at any one time. In term for WA this would be ~54,000. Excuse my language but as a consequence of this “vaccine passports” are a crock of shit.
3. There is nothing like #zerocovid. We have done extremely well. I have played my part in this too. Dr Andrew Robertson knows who I am. I have harassed him with things I felt were important for him to know, such as aerosols, masks, quarantine (B117 is infectious for 21 days).
4. If you open the border it will be masks all the time, social distancing, indoor will be unsafe, schools will need ventilation in all classroom (at the rate in replacing the volume of air in each room 6 times an hour). Lots of small businesses (eg restaurants etc) will close because indoors will never be safe. 97% of all super-spreading is indoors and over 96% is via aerosols. 5. We do not know much about Omicron yet. It seems to attack young children under the age of 2. Parents will be furious at you if you open without a vaccine for those who may want it, especially if you plan to keep schools open. I think you will be forced to close them if you open up the border.
6. How many people are vaccinated with #astrazeneca. I have campaigned hard to have it deleted. Look at the difference between Victoria and NSW. Victoria is about 50% AZ.
7. Running quarantine like we are now is easier than running an open border. Remember this in case you do open. Why not wait until we can see what happens in Queensland, SA and Tasmania?
8. Not only will small business be harmed but all business will. Offices will be unusable because of aerosols. This will affect city development and super funds.
9. The other problem with vaccines is that people will get sick of a booster every 3 months (that is the current recommendation in the UK). They will revolt.
