BA.2.79.1 was mutated and detected in Victoria/Australia, from UK variant BA.2.79. BA.2.79 offshoot from BA.2.75.

BA.2.75, BA.2.76, BA.2.78 detected in India.
BA.2.77 first detected in Ireland.
BA.2.80 first detected in Denmark.
BA.2.81 first detected in Brazil.

The new variant BA.2.75 is in Australia. A new wave is about to kick-off. BA.2.79.1 is already been made in Australia/Victoria. But we might still be dealing with aftershocks of BA.5 with variants like BE.1.1 and BF.5 kicking up, like in Japan.

Just look at BA.2.75 and BA.2.76 move through India. It is as if BA.5 ad BA.4 (and subvariants) might not even get a look in.
