NSW, who got all the early favouritism with Pfizer vaccine, while Victoria, Queensland, SA and WA had to use up more astrazeneca, is doing as poorly as the rest of Australia combined. Because they have almost dropped all restrictions.
This not sustainable with the new BA.2 subvariants, deltacron and BA.4 and BA.5 starting up. That is why case numbers, hospitalizations, and deaths are going up and will continue doing so, unless some restriction are bought back in.
Is this an election gimmick? Victoria wants to lift all restrictions too. We already know that the 2 main parties do not care about covid19, the elderly, or people in general. It is all a game to them, a theatre, a media show. None of what any of the premiers have done has been based on science or common sense. It has been about control and calling the pandemic over, but is it really over with 100 million actively infected worldwide in a huge virus poll in which the virus mutates and crosses over looking for an escape to an already useless vaccine.
Make you vote count by voting for anyone but the main two parties in the senate. Mark them last. This is the way to give them a swift kick in the knackers.

As you can see from the graph below the case numbers in NSW and Victoria (and also in Queensland and WA) are climbing quickly.
You can see that in the last week or so all states are increasing case numbers.
