In 2001 Australian researchers and Dr Mark Buller (St Louis, USA) made a strain of smallpox in mice, called mousepox that has a case fatality rat of 100%, and the smallpox vaccine does not work against it. That means it kills everything. Mousepox is so potent that the smallpox vaccine does not work against it. I bet this nonsense is being kept in a lab somewhere. The argument is we need to study this so that we have a fix in case it is released as a bioweapon, but what if it accidentally escapes the lab like SARS-CoV2 did from the Wuhan Virology Laboratory.

Dr Mark Buller also worked on other poxviruses including monkeypox. He was killed when a car hit him while he was on his bicycle in 2017.
